Inexperienced... unvetted... will be forced to withdraw any day... can't handle the big stage... it was just one speech... anybody could do that... the real test will be the debate... Hillary can beat her in 2012... maybe the Democrats can win back congress in 2014...

My favorite parts were when she railed against the herd-think of the entrenched Washington establishment. "Throw the bums out!" the GOP howled.
Oh, wait...
Yes, Mrs. Lincoln, but what did you think of the speech?
FWIW, I think you'd find that the party faithful would be quite happy to see pork-barreling Republicans knifed along with the rest. And lest we forget, it was right-wing bloggers and activists who ran Trent Lott out.

I thought it was an effective speech, especially the part about Obama writing more memoirs than laws. And the image of her daughter licking her hand and patting down her brother's hair was very sweet and probably helped solidify the happy family image.
That said, the GOP's capacity for assuming the mantel of victimhood after ruling the entire roost for a decade strikes me as more than a little preposterous. Romney's speech about "liberal Washington" had to strain the credulity of even the most ardent Republican. Of course, fanatics are defined as much by their ability to instantly forget inconvenient facts, as they are by their devotion to any doctrine, so that they should take such a tack hardly surprises.
[Kingers, now's the time for you to say that liberals do the same thing, so it doesn't matter.]
Palin's sarcastic dismissal of "community organizers" was an unnecessarily sour note, coming a day after the GOP mounted a great celebration of the importance of service. When did we start mocking people who help the poor? And her bit about rejecting the Bridge to Nowhere may have been someone undercut that she initially supported it until it became a liability, and even then, accepted the federal funds anyway.
[Kingers, see above]
And, on a personal note, I stand by the fact that she looks like she's wearing a costume out there. That may not matter a whit--she is from Alaska after all, and can't be expected to have style beyond some kind of pelt thing or perhaps a ball gown made out of icicles and Caribou horns--but still, it disturbed me in ways I can't articulate. I think there might be a giant lizard inside there.
