Go Michael Go
In politics it is often more important to pick the right enemies than the right friends, and no one is a better example of this than Michael Moore, whose tinfoil haberdashery in Fahrenheit 9/11 did as much as the Swift Boat Vets to re-elect GWB. The broad middle of the country, particularly in the kill-me-now-please-swing states, does not have anything against Democrats, but it does have a problem with pinkos. Moore's movie was catnip for the True Believers but did more than Karl Rove could ever hope to tie Kerry to the assorted fruits and nuts of the hard left.
Anyway, on that note I can only give a huge thumbs-up to Moore's suggestion that Caroline Kennedy "pull a Cheney" and nominate herself as Obama's veep. After all, what could do more to allay concerns that Obama is a celebrity candidate with a too-thin resume and a fondness for empty gestures, than to select an actual Kennedy with even fewer qualifications for the job than Harriet Miers. Say what you want about Cheney, but the only qualification he lacked was cardiovascular--wasn't he a cabinet secretary in high school or something?
